Three Historic Houses, One Luxurious Hotel

The hotel’s name is a tribute to the buildings’ original owner, Joseph Soniat Dufossat. Their fortune built on sugar at Tchoupitoulas Plantation, the Soniat family built three strikingly beautiful townhouses on Chartres Street in the early 19th century.

Rodney and Frances acquired the property with a vision of creating the hotel they dreamed of discovering. Their goal was to provide modern conveniences while preserving the architectural integrity of the original design. The restoration produced an elegant retreat in the middle of the Vieux Carre.
